particles in love

Single Sanskrit words have many meanings; yoga means to yoke, link, join, unite or connect amongst many other interpretations. The practice being a constant reminder of our interconnectedness to all that surrounds us.
The language is also said to be based upon the vibrations caused by the creation of the universe – when we speak a name in Sanskrit (deity or god/dess), we call them into being in that moment.
The particles that create everything vibrate and resonate to their surroundings.
Everything we can see, touch, explore and feel exists because the particles that make them attract one another so deeply, they form an unbreakable invisible bond. The particles are literally in love and forever in sync, so that even when light years distance apart, they still sense one another, and shift to each other’s rhythms.
This cosmic dance of the invisible explains how Yoga changes us at the most fundamental level. It is not by chance that we call negative thoughts and feelings low frequency: anger, jealousy, frustration and sorrow feel low and cause a heaviness. High frequency vibrations elevate our sense of being; optimism, happiness, gratitude, adoration and love.
The Yoga practice involves breath, intention, movement and mindfulness; we subconsciously invite our thoughts, feelings and emotions to be slowed and witnessed. It’s a practice of being held whole, as we are, where we are. We meet and be met, and in this slowing down, and of being held, we soften and accept that what is really just is. Acceptance is the antidote to anxiety.
The frequency of slowing down, of being present, allows the particles of our being; the pieces of us, to also slow, hum and vibrate in unity. This is why the practice feels so wholesome, like a homecoming. Because the pieces of us are unified, and we’re present with how we feel.
Our particles are in love with one another. Influencing just one to elevate, to feel seen becomes addictive to its partners. For every time we change one tiny part of the puzzle, we shift the entire landscape.
As the moon determines the oceans, and lovers are bound over distance, the particles of self respond to every subtle vibration of movement, meditation and breath, dancing through low to high frequencies, high to low, and back and forth and all the places in between.
Our experiences shift, our physicality ages, yet still our particles stay drawn to one another, magnetising and so holding the shapes and containers for our felt experiences.
Our task is to rise above all the things that seek to pull us down, seemingly apart, out of sync, and instead to nourish the natural connection of unity. Breath, body, and conscious movement restores the felt sense of magnetism, the intricacies of particles drawn toward and entangled with one another.
It’s easy to forget the simple magic that exists in the universe, how all these particles in love exist so we can have the experiences we live through. How our actions affect everything near and far, conscious and otherwise.
Gifting ourselves the simple rituals of being with our own experience, of listening to our breath, feeling our body become less tense, of heightening intuition and the felt sense of being, radically changes the ingredients that make us who we are.
Rituals such as gratitude practices, journalling, meditating, positive affirmations and the like each serve to change the particles.
And in changing ourselves, we change the people, places and particles that surround us.
The microcosm changes the macrocosm.
We arrive at our mats/practice/intention feeling one way, only to realise that we were holding on, in, back, and restricting our experience and ability to feel and be any way.
This month’s intention focuses on the invisible thread that bounds the pieces of us together. Those that are so deeply in love, no amount of distance can pull them apart.
